Kylah is ready for Spa Night.
Jevan's turn.
Wow...the weeks are flying by! I still can't seem to adjust to how quickly each week is passing. I can't seem to get everything done i'd like, but am enjoying each day as much as i can.
It seems the flu bug is going around and Kylah ended up getting her 2nd shot this week. Jevan is supposed to get his next week so i'm keeping fingers crossed that they will have it available. Both kids have been surviving surprisingly well (knock on wood). Jevan had 10 kids on one day gone from his class. Kylah has had quite a few too, so i feel lucky and blessed that they haven't gotten sick. Especially Kylah...it seems everything you hear now that is "complicated" has to do with underlying conditions. We continue to wash hands, drink water, and take our vitamins! And, quite frankly...we are staying home.
We also recently had confirmation at what a mathematical "genius" we have for a son! We have always known that Jevan's strengths have been math and reading (well, completely honest...we've always thought he is a smart boy). But, you don't want to compare so you don't ask the teacher how he compares to others, you only get information on what your child is doing. The 3rd graders at his school recently took the MAP Math test, a progressive test. Meaning, the more questions the child answers, the harder the questions get and they continue answering questions until they get X amount wrong. Jevan came home and said it was "really hard Mom and I was the last one to finish". Well, at the time I didn't put it all together because Jevan doesn't take too long to do anything so from that i should've figured out that he probably answered the most questions, but I didn't until his teacher approached me to say he had the highest score in the 3rd grade! She went on to tell us the score he received and the questions he ended on were 5th grade questions (including some Algebra)! I'm so proud of him. She is going to share more information with us at the parent conferences in November, but i feel like we need to find something that he can do with this! She (Jevan's teacher) was going to look into any "extra" clubs, etc. that are offered.
Tuesday evening was SPA NIGHT for KIDS. Jevan requested that the 20th of every month be Spa Night, so they both got to experience the ambience of a spa, complete with candles, relaxation music, heated pads to lay on, facials and massages (feet, hand and body). They both really enjoyed it. Kylah couldn't stop asking questions the whole time, but she kept saying "this is so fun Mom". And, "can i eat the cucumbers afterwards?" So, she did! Jevan wanted to know why the music was so "peaceful", ha ha. And he didn't want any pictures taken because of the flash in the dark, hurt his eyes. So, i only got one pic of him. I think we will be doing spa night again, it was fun for me too!
Hey Jac. Congrats to Jevan that is awesome!! Love the pumpkins. :)
